Hagwood, Coleman and McGehee Obtain Unanimous Verdict

The HAT trial team of Carl Hagwood, Mike Coleman and Marian McGehee convinced a Rankin County, Mississippi, jury that HAT’s client, a local neurosurgeon, was not negligent when he conducted several surgeries on the Plaintiff’s spine. The primary contention was that a pedicle screw was misplaced during a May 5, 2010, surgery, and this caused significant neurological injury to the Plaintiff, including losing the use of her left leg. The HAT team proved that the screw was not misplaced, and that the Plaintiff’s neurological deficit and pain following surgery were due to a known risk of the surgery that happened in the absence of negligence. The verdict was unanimous.
